Regarding your question about other improvements, I'm going to be having a few SynthDefs with Select.ar in them. SC has SelectX to make sure there isn't any popping or clicks when changing an oscillator UGen, for example. I don't see a SelectX in supriya, but maybe it isn't necessary? Anyway, that was the first thing that I thought of when you mentioned other changes/additions.

FWIW, SelectX isn't a true UGen - it's not uniquely implemented at the C level - but a higher level abstraction on top of Select and XFade2: https://github.com/supercollider/supercollider/blob/develop/SCClassLibrary/Common/Audio/Osc.sc#L256-L274

I've erred on the side of implementing UGens that exist at the C level AND in the SuperCollider standard library (not in Quarks, extensions, etc.), but as requested I'll implement "pseudo" UGens like SelectX.
