Vagus Stimulator (Android)

This Android app provides non-invasive auricular vagus nerve stimulation (aVNS) using the smartphone's vibration motor.

Purpose

The app aims to activate the parasympathetic nervous system by stimulating the cymba conchae region of the left ear.

How It Works

  • Choose one of several stimulation modes (Standard, Continuous, Burst, etc.).
  • Set the desired duration (0–30 minutes).
  • Press the bottom-left edge of your phone gently onto the marked point in your left ear (cymba conchae).
  • Optional: to maximize vagus stimulation use breathing technique: 4 seconds inhale, 6 seconds exhale. Instruction audio is available (checkbox)

Warnings

Device Safety

  • Continuous vibration for extended periods may cause device heating or battery drain.
  • Use moderate durations (5–10 minutes) to start.

Installation issues

If vibration effect does not occure, set Settings > Accessibility > Vibration & haptics > Touch feedback "on".
