Data Analyst based in Auckland, New Zealand. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico.
I work with SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, Python, and Microsoft Fabric. I have built star schemas from 100-table databases, ETL pipelines that went from minutes to near-instant after rewriting the join logic in SQL, and a forecasting model that writes predictions back into a lakehouse so actuals and forecasts sit side by side in the same dashboard.
I use AI tools every day, not as a novelty but as part of how I actually work. Claude for documentation, strategy, and code. ChatGPT for Python generation and debugging. I built my entire workspace around Claude Code on Linux. The honest version: AI does not replace thinking. It replaces the blank page. You still have to know what you are building and why.
NZ Property Dashboard β Rebuilding my Australian property investment dashboard with publicly available New Zealand data (REINZ, Stats NZ, Police, school, transport). Same analytical structure, rebuilt on an open-source stack: PostgreSQL, Apache Superset, Airflow. A portfolio piece that speaks for itself.
Home Lab β Self-hosted infrastructure on a Dell OptiPlex running Fedora. Immich for photos, Calibre for books, Jellyfin and Navidrome planned. Tailscale for mesh networking, Cloudflare Tunnel because my ISP runs CGNAT. Everything open source where possible.
Claude Code Workspace β A structured local environment for using Claude Code as a daily coworking tool. Career strategy, brand content, project docs, all version-controlled. This is how I work now.

If you are figuring out how to break into data, how to use AI tools without pretending they do the thinking for you, or how to build a portfolio when you are starting from scratch, you are probably where I was not long ago.
