Walkthrough

The code update replaces the import and usage of the parsePacket function with parsePacketAsJson from a different module path within the same package. All instances where parsePacket was previously used for parsing payload, output, and metadata packets in the ApiRetrieveRunPresenter class and the createCommonRunStructure function are now using parsePacketAsJson. No other logic, error handling, or control flow in the file was modified, and there were no changes to the signatures of exported or public entities.

🔇 Additional comments (4)
apps/webapp/app/presenters/v3/ApiRetrieveRunPresenter.server.ts (4)

11-11: Good adherence to coding guidelines.

The import change correctly uses a subpath export from @trigger.dev/core instead of the root path, which aligns with the webapp coding guidelines.

165-165: Consistent output parsing change looks good.

The output parsing change is consistent with the payload parsing modification and should resolve JSON stringification issues for task outputs.

436-439: Metadata parsing change aligns with the overall fix.

The metadata parsing change completes the consistent replacement of parsePacket with parsePacketAsJson throughout the file. This ensures all packet parsing operations use the same robust JSON handling.

136-136: No changes needed for payload parsing in presenters

I’ve reviewed both implementations:

  • parsePacket returns typed values (Dates, BigInts, etc.) for downstream services.
  • parsePacketAsJson intentionally strips SuperJSON metadata and returns a plain JSON object.

All existing uses of parsePacketAsJson are in API presenter code (e.g. ApiRetrieveRunPresenter.server.ts and related presenters), where returning plain JSON is the intended behavior. There are no other code paths depending on SuperJSON metadata in those presenters.

No breaking changes detected—approval stands.
