The biotic indices included in this package are:
formula : AMBI = [(0xGI)+(1.5xGII)+(3xGIII)+(4.5xGIV)+(6xGV)] / 100
where GI - GV are the relative abundance of all taxa belonging to respective ecological groups.
The ecological quality status are defined:
0 < AMBI < 1.2 = very good
1.2 < AMBI < 3.3 = good
3.3 < AMBI < 4.3 = moderate
4.3 < AMBI < 5.5 = bad
5.5 < AMBI < 6 = very bad
formula : ISI = ∑ws / Ns
where w is the ecological weight of the taxa s, and N is the number of taxa with an ISI weight in the sample.
The ecological quality status are defined:
0 < ISI < 4.5 = very good
4.5 < ISI < 6.1 = good
6.1 < ISI < 7.5 = moderate
7.5 < ISI < 9.6 = bad
9.6 < ISI < 13 = very bad
formula : NSI = ∑aws / TotA
where a is the abundance, w is the sensitivity value of the taxa s, and TotA is the total abundance of taxa with a sensitivity value present in the sample.
The ecological quality status are defined:
0 < ISI < 4.5 = very bad
4.5 < ISI < 6.1 = bad
6.1 < ISI < 7.5 = moderate
7.5 < ISI < 9.6 = good
9.6 < ISI < 13 = very good
formula : NQI1 = 0.5x(1-AMBI/7)+0.5[log(Sambi)/log(log(∑Nambi))]/2.7 x ∑Nambi / (∑Nambi + 5)
where AMBI is the AMBI index value for the sample, Sambi is the number of taxa with an ecological group, Nambi is the total abundance of taxa with an ecological group.
The ecological quality status are defined:
0 < NQI1 < 0.31 = very bad
0.31 < NQI1 < 0.49 = bad
0.49 < NQI1 < 0.63 = moderate
0.63 < NQI1 < 0.82 = good
0.82 < NQI1 < 1 = very good
formula : BENTIX = [(6xGI)+2x(GII+GIII)] / 100
where GI - GIII are the relative abundance of all taxa belonging to respective ecological groups.
The ecological quality status are defined:
0 < BENTIX < 2 = very bad
2 < BENTIX < 2.5 = bad
2.5 < BENTIX < 3.5 = moderate
3.5 < BENTIX < 4.5 = good
4.5 < BENTIX < 6 = very good
