This PR includes breaking changes:

  • Updated ESLint v8 to v9 + added v9 as peerDependencies
  • Updated examples in the readme
  • Migrated the local ESLint config using npx @eslint/migrate-config .eslintrc.yaml
  • Migrated the ESLint API manually by following https://eslint.org/blog/2023/09/preparing-custom-rules-eslint-v9/
  • Removed the duplicate test cases because rule tester is stricter now
