Requirements template (generic)

  1. How many users are going to use the functionality?
  2. Describe your current ‘How to’?
  3. Deadline for the functionality?
  4. Why do you need that functionality?
  5. Provide stakeholders for requirement gathering/ user testing
  6. Languages used
  7. Describe your pain points?
  8. Are there any parts of your current processes manual? How many people currently working on them?
  9. Do they use other systems currently? Any third party? Any tools (Excel …)?
  10. How many people can access sensitive information/ do we need permission sets?
  11. Are there any existing documentation they can share
  12. Who are the beneficiaries/ receivers of the functionality/Target Audience?
  13. Short/Long term ambition of the company
  14. International set-up? Currency used?
  15. Define MOSCOW status of each requirement (Must Have/ Should Have/ Could have/ Can’t Have)
  16. Do you have a Glossary available?

Requirements template (specific) once we know the scope of the project

Process mapping of the ‘as is’ and the ‘to be’ with a proof of concept (Lucidchart/ using a Dev Sandbox for POC) using SwimLane model, or colour coding for Salesforce Actions/ End user action

User Stories/ Salesforce Admin actioning requirements

  1. Numbering of the user Stories (ColumnA)
  2. ’As a’ ‘I want to’ ‘So I can’ (Column B)
  3. Acceptance Criteria (Column C)
  4. Estimation/Sizing (Column D)
  5. Status of the ticket (Backlog/ Ready for Dev/ In Dev/ Ready for QA/ In QA/ QA complete/ Deployed)

  7. QA testing steps/results (Column F)
  8. Stakeholder/ SME (Column G)

Show & Tell

Demo of the functionality Ask stakeholders for feedback. If all good, you push to production and hand over to training If changes needed, gather new requirements > Update process maps > Create new user stories Understand time savings from deploying new functionality
