Flaked Flint
Your first set of tools will be made from flint. In fact you will need a Flint Hatchet before you can properly harvest wood.
Flint needs to be flaked by hitting it in-world against a hard material such as stone, to produce the flaked flint item used for the actual crafting. The flaking process is imperfect and will often take several attempts, sometimes loosing material in the process. Successful output amounts will also vary.
Other items can be flaked in a similar manner, quartz, emerald, diamond, etc... These higher level materials can only be flaked against blocks proportionally harder than stone.
